What is Pilates?

Pilates was developed by Joseph Pilates and was recognised as early as the 1920’s and has grown in popularity ever since. Pilates is a low impact exercise that specifically targets the core muscles, which helps to promote good postural alignment and improve strength.

As Pilates is low impact it is a safe way to return to exercise and rehabilitate your body following injury or pain. Pilates is suitable for everyone and can be a gentle form of exercise or more challenging depending on your goals and fitness levels.
Pilates can help improve muscle tone, posture, balance and join mobility as well as relieve stress and tension.
